The model is waiting on live source data. Demo mode shows how the posture logic behaves across the 1-3, 7, 14, and 30 day windows.

How To Read It
Trading-window style
Pump Momentum is the 1-3 day indicator. It is designed as a confirmation and early-turn gauge, not a full forecast. 7-Day Bias is the short-term read. 14-Day Bias gives wholesale moves more time to reach the pump. 30-Day Outlook is the primary signal because gasoline prices move through a slower retail chain than index options. Expected moves are shown as rough cents-per-gallon ranges, not point predictions.
Sources And Limits
First build
- The displayed current national average is anchored to the AAA baseline; scheduled refreshes update the market drivers.
- GitHub Actions attempts to use public EIA series for national retail gasoline trends, WTI crude, gasoline stocks, refinery utilization, and demand/product supplied.
- Expected-move ranges estimate possible national-average change by horizon using retail momentum, crude pass-through, inventory, utilization, demand, and seasonal blend pressure.
- Seasonal blend pressure is modeled from the calendar because summer and winter gasoline formulations change supply cost and availability.
- If the scheduled data file is unavailable, the dashboard falls back to demo data and marks the status clearly.
